M.Sc. Biology student

Since childhood, I have been captivated by the incredible diversity of wildlife. I am fascinated by how different species occupy unique ecological niches and have evolved remarkable survival strategies. Among them, insects—by far the most diverse group—have particularly captured my interest. Their habitats are as varied as their appearances, and their unique behaviors drive my curiosity. Understanding and protecting these creatures is now my passion. One of the most intriguing adaptations to me is eusociality. I am eager to deepen my understanding of this phenomenon and explore it further through my research.

For my master’s thesis, I am currently investigating factors that shape wound care behavior in Eciton burchellii army ants in the neotropical forest of Costa Rica. My research aims to provide deeper insights into this behavioral trait and compare it to wound care behaviors observed in other species.
During my bachelor’s thesis, I categorized acceleration measurements to identify the behavior of eland and kudu antelopes by following and observing them in Namibia.
