I am interested in ants with a particular focus on their taxonomy and morphology. In one project I am investigating seasonal differences in ant diversity in a West African Forest-Savannah mosaic. To analyse the community shift and morphological adaptation between rainy and dry seasons.

In my Master’s project I am investigating the physiological constraints of ant leg amputation.
Which ants perform amputations and whether there is a correlation between bite force and thickness of the cuticle on the leg.
